Application Specialist 

Location: Taiwan

Help customers discover what TESCAN’s advanced microscopy solutions can achieve. As an Application Specialist II, you will perform sample analyses, deliver instrument demonstrations and training, and provide expert application advice to customers, distributors, and colleagues. Your technical expertise and presentation skills will play an important role in customer purchasing decisions, long-term partnerships, and the continued growth of the TESCAN brand.

What You’ll Do

• Perform advanced sample analysis using SEM, FIB-SEM, and third-party analytical tools.

• Plan and deliver professional demonstrations of TESCAN instruments, adapting workflows and presentations to customers’ applications and requirements.

• Discuss sample analysis and demonstration requirements with customers, distributors, and internal teams.

• Interpret and present analysis results, recommend suitable instrument configurations, and prepare clear sample analysis reports.

• Process images and analytical data using standard software tools.

• Train customers and colleagues to operate TESCAN instruments, either at TESCAN facilities or at customer sites.

• Test software and hardware modules and provide structured feedback to relevant internal teams.

• Represent TESCAN at exhibitions, conferences, and other professional events.

• Maintain the assigned demonstration instrument and working environment, ensuring equipment availability and promptly reporting any malfunctions.

• Collaborate with global Applications, Sales, Service, and other technical teams to support customer projects and commercial opportunities.

What You’ll Bring

• A university degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree holders are welcome.

• At least one year of relevant professional experience in microscopy applications, materials characterization, instrument demonstrations, or a similar role.

• Practical experience with SEM and knowledge of sample preparation for electron microscopy.

• Knowledge of FIB-SEM workflows and analytical equipment; experience with Ga or Xe plasma FIB systems would be a strong advantage.

• The ability to perform sample analysis, interpret results, process images and data, and communicate findings clearly.

• Strong communication, presentation, and customer training skills.

• Good time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage several customer or demonstration projects.

• A customer-focused and collaborative approach when working with colleagues, distributors, and international teams.

• Good English communication skills for working within a global organization.

• A valid passenger-car driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites, exhibitions, and conferences as required.
