We are seeking a new team member to support our Finance and Accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently managing a specific area of accounting tasks.

 

What can you expect at TESCAN?

  • Handling a designated part of the accounting agenda for our subsidiaries, primarily in the Czech Republic, with outreach across Europe (France, UK, Germany, Belgium).

  • Posting receivables and liabilities, processing internal documents and offsets, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.

  • Payroll processing in accordance with Czech legislation, supported by an experienced payroll accountant, and accounting for other personnel-related costs based on documentation.

  • Administration of FIDOO payment cards and control of accounting for card transactions.

  • Management of the business travel expense system (T&E Bizaway), including processing and verification.

  • Participation in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the group’s standards.

  • Cooperation with the local team to obtain documents and information necessary for proper accounting.

  • Processing of accounting documents in line with applicable tax legislation, with support from an external tax advisory firm (VAT, income tax, and other regulatory matters).

  • Ensuring compliance with internal control processes and supporting audit activities.

  • Performing similar activities within the department for other subsidiaries, providing backup support.

  • Active participation in process improvement as part of our newly forming shared services center.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • University or secondary school degree in economics.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar accounting position (general ledger accountant or in an international company or shared services center within a GL/R2R team).

  • Experience with payroll processing is an advantage; basic understanding is essential.

  • Knowledge of Czech accounting and tax regulations.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP is a plus).

  • Good command of MS Excel – filtering, lookup functions, pivot tables, etc.

  • Proficient in Czech, with written English skills at a communicative level; knowledge of another language is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and able to work independently.
