Financial Planner & Analyst

Help shape sound financial decisions across Tescan's R&D portfolio. In this role, you will combine financial planning and analysis with close business partnering, bringing transparency to project performance and supporting R&D leaders at key decision points.

What You'll Do

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning for R&D functions and projects.
• Provide financial governance across the R&D project portfolio, including financial evaluations, baseline reviews, and financial input for key Stage-Gate Product Development Process milestones and project decisions.
• Monitor actual and expected R&D performance, analyze variances, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and escalate material financial issues when needed.
• Develop financial models, scenarios, and business cases to support project prioritization, resource allocation, and investment decisions.
• Prepare and present clear monthly financial reports, forecasts, and actionable insights for R&D leaders and Finance management.
• Define, monitor, and continuously improve financial and operational KPIs for R&D functions and projects.
• Partner with project managers, R&D leadership, Accounting, and Finance colleagues to strengthen financial performance, cost transparency, and accountability.

What You'll Bring

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in FP&A, controlling, or project finance. BIG 4 experience is an advantage.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and variance analysis skills, with a structured and analytical approach.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting tools.
• Experience in R&D, project controlling, or stage-gate governance is an advantage.
• Professional English communication skills and the ability to make complex financial topics clear and accessible.
• A collaborative approach that helps you build strong partnerships across Finance, R&D, and project teams.
• Confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and contribute a business-oriented financial perspective.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills, with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• A proactive mindset, taking ownership and identifying financial risks and opportunities early.
