Mechanical Design Engineer for Micro-CT (part-time) 

Let’s support the development of advanced micro-CT systems by contributing to mechanical design, 3D modeling, and technical documentation. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and take part in shaping precise, high-end technology used worldwide. 

What You’ll Do 

• Support the design, modification, and revision of mechanical parts and assemblies for micro-CT systems. 

• Create and maintain 3D models and detailed drawing documentation in SolidWorks. 

• Ensure technical documentation and part data in the PDM system are accurate, complete, and aligned with internal standards. 

• Collaborate with senior mechanical engineers and technologists on ongoing development projects and engineering changes. 

• Communicate clearly with cross-functional teams including purchasing, manufacturing, technology, and testing. 

• Cooperate with our international development team in Ghent through regular English communication. 

• Follow established design processes and continuously improve your technical skills and tool proficiency. 

What You’ll Bring 

• Education in mechanical engineering or a related technical field - ideally a Bachelor’s degree or ongoing Master’s studies, or strong enthusiasm for mechanical design and technology. 

• Practical experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or a similar parametric system, including part and assembly modeling and drawing creation. 

• Confidence communicating in English, both written and spoken, in an international environment. 

• A detail-oriented mindset and care for precision in models, drawings, and documentation. 

• Curiosity and motivation to learn from experienced colleagues and grow into more complex engineering responsibilities.
