R&D Project Manager

At Tescan, we're looking for an R&D Project Manager to lead complex development projects in electron microscopy, from initial planning to successful product release. You'll bring clarity, structure, and momentum to projects that turn technical innovation into solutions for scientific discovery.

What You'll Do

  • Lead complex R&D projects covering new product development and improvements to existing technologies.

  • Build and manage project plans, milestones, budgets, risks, and dependencies to keep delivery on track.

  • Bring together experts from R&D, Product Management, Operations, Service, and other teams to ensure smooth collaboration and clear accountability.

  • Monitor progress, identify potential challenges early, and help teams make informed decisions.

  • Manage scope changes and assess their impact on timelines, resources, costs, and project risks.

  • Coordinate technical, compliance, production, service, and documentation readiness before product release or implementation.

  • Drive continuous improvement by learning from completed projects and finding better ways to deliver results.

What You'll Bring

  • A university degree in engineering, science, business, project management, or a related field.

  • Experience leading complex technical R&D projects and guiding teams toward shared goals.

  • A structured approach to project planning, risk management, stage-gate processes, and change control.

  • Confidence in working across different functions, building trust, and keeping people aligned without relying on formal authority.

  • The ability to challenge unrealistic commitments constructively and find practical solutions when priorities compete.

  • A clear, fact-based communication style that helps others understand risks, options, and decisions.

  • A good understanding of project budgets, resource planning, and delivery forecasting.

  • Fluency in English to collaborate effectively with colleagues across our international teams.

  • A project management certification is an advantage.

  • A community that grows together - collaborate with colleagues across the world and find long-term opportunities here.

  • Support along the way - whether relocating, starting fresh, or exploring new roles, we make your journey smoother.

  • A place you'll enjoy - our Brno offices are surrounded by forest, in a city known for culture, family life, and friendly energy.

  • Benefits that give you back - financial bonuses, flexible perks worth up to 24,000 CZK/year (Benefit Plus), meal allowance, free coffee, mobile tarif, language courses.

  • Time that's yours - 5 weeks of vacation, 2 sick days, 1 volunteering day.
