Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Design and improve mechanical modules and components for our SEM/FIB systems. You’ll own small-to-medium projects end-to-end, mentor engineers, and make smart, manufacturable design decisions that stand up in real-world testing.

What You’ll Do

• Design construction elements based on system definitions and functional requirements.

• Create and modify 3D models using CAD software to deliver both standard and non-standard solutions.

• Develop new modules and components in collaboration with R&D Applications teams.

• Perform complex behavior modeling and testing in cooperation with system engineers.

• Evaluate production processes for efficiency and suggest improvements.

• Estimate manufacturing costs and provide input for production planning.

• Conduct device tests, troubleshoot issues, and assess component performance.

• Document design and testing results in accordance with company standards and approval processes.

• Mentor junior engineers and take ownership of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring smooth collaboration across teams.

What You’ll Bring

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• Deep knowledge of 3D CAD modeling tools and the ability to use them to their full potential.

• Understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing technologies, and materials.

• Ability to work independently, make informed design decisions, and seek out needed information proactively.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with attention to both detail and system context.

• Good communication skills and English language competence.

• A collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge with colleagues.
