We are looking for a new colleague to join the Production Engineering Department as a Manufacturing Engineer – Technologist with a focus on electrical engineering.
The mission of the Production Engineering Department is to simplify the lives of several collaborating departments: we save developers time, help solve production issues, and provide technical support to our colleagues in logistics.
What to Expect at TESCAN
The role of a manufacturing engineer-technologist at our company is diverse and certainly not monotonous. It includes daily communication and solving unexpected problems, as well as meticulous work reviewing and creating documentation.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:
-
Communicating with colleagues in production – helping resolve production complications and deficiencies in production documentation
-
Reviewing and potentially modifying documentation received from development – assessing the manufacturability of parts, checking drawings and bills of materials
-
Consulting with developers regarding any discrepancies in documentation
-
Creating instructions and manuals for production (photographing production processes, processing them in Composer software)
-
Communicating with external component suppliers (in both Czech and English)
-
Designing fixtures for production
-
Providing technical support to the logistics department (e.g., helping find alternative components), and collaborating with other departments across the company
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
-
Technical knowledge and skills – ability to read electrical schematics, experience with OrCAD or other design systems, and ideally familiarity with a 3D CAD program (not required but a plus)
-
A non-confrontational nature and good communication skills – daily interaction with colleagues from production and development is expected
-
Precision and strong technical imagination (e.g., assessing manufacturability of parts or component connections in documentation)
-
Manual skills – a willingness to try out the manufacturing process of a component firsthand
-
Confidence using English (reading technical documentation, communicating with suppliers via email and possibly by phone)
-
Programming experience in Python or PHP is an advantage
We Offer:
-
A non-stereotypical role that gives you broad exposure in the field
-
Training, professional development, and opportunities for personal and career growth
-
An internal training system and English language courses
-
Flexible working hours and occasional home office
-
5 weeks of vacation and up to 2 sick days
- Competitive benefit package – free cofee, cantine in the building, 5 weeks of vacation, financial bonuses, 2 sick days, 1 day for volunteering, meal allowance, mobile tarif, benefit cafeteria worth up to 24 000 CZK/year
-
A modern and pleasant working environment in Brno – Kohoutovice, with good transport accessibility and facilities for cyclists and other athletes
-
Immediate start possible
