We are looking for a new colleague to join our Electronics Development Department for Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM). As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will design electronic circuits and assemble them into complete electronic devices. You will collaborate with fellow electronics engineers, mechanical designers, programmers, and specialists from both technical and non-technical fields. You’ll be part of a team of ten colleagues who are truly passionate about electronics and our microscopes.

This position is ideal for electronics designers with experience in electrical device design, who are eager to apply their knowledge and gain insight into the field of electron microscopy.

What can you expect at TESCAN?

  • Independent work on modifications of existing electronic circuits and SEM devices, as well as on the development of entirely new solutions, especially power supplies, measurement cards, and digital circuits.

  • Designing electronic schematics in CAD (and possibly PCB layouts), simulating circuit behavior with software, and verifying functionality, parameters, and reliability both theoretically (by calculation) and practically (by measurement). Once validated, you will help introduce the electronics into serial production.

  • Creating mechanical designs of electronic modules in CAD and cooperating with mechanical engineers and manufacturing specialists to integrate these modules into production.

  • Close collaboration with other electronics engineers, mechanical designers, firmware and FPGA developers, software engineers, physicists, manufacturing engineers, and other specialists. You’ll discuss your solutions with them and contribute ideas to achieve the best possible outcome together.

  • Properly documenting your work for serial production, product certifications, and collaboration with colleagues.

What we expect from you

  • Secondary school or university degree in a technical field.

  • Experience in designing electronic circuits for production.

  • Experience with reliability verification of electronics (theoretical calculations and practical measurements/testing).

  • Experience in designing complete electronic modules, including mechanical aspects.

  • Knowledge of EMC issues and their application in electronic design.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team and communicate effectively in Czech.

  • Strong organizational skills: breaking down large tasks into smaller ones, managing time, and ensuring quality.

  • English skills sufficient for oral and written technical communication (e.g., understanding datasheets, creating design descriptions, and documenting measurements).

  • Interest in contributing to the development of electron microscopes.

What we offer

  • Opportunity to contribute to the development of electron microscopes, incorporating the latest knowledge in particle and materials physics, while working with high-precision electronics.

  • Interesting and varied work content.

  • Professional training and opportunities for personal and career growth.

  • Collaboration with experienced colleagues from across the company.

  • Chance to explore or improve in related fields such as mechanical design, firmware development, or project management, if of interest.

  • Use of foreign languages, especially English.

  • Internal training system, fully covered language courses during working hours.

  • Flexible working hours with the possibility of home office.

  • 5 weeks of vacation and 2 sick days.

  • Attractive benefits package: subsidized Multisport card, discounted mobile tariff, pension contributions, meal allowance, etc.

  • Modern and pleasant working environment in Brno – Kohoutovice, with good transport accessibility, facilities for cyclists and athletes, and on-site parking.
