Field Service Engineer

Start your field service career with TESCAN and develop hands-on expertise in advanced SEM and FIB technologies. Based in Seoul, you will receive structured technical and field training before gradually taking responsibility for instrument installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support. We are looking for a practical and customer-focused engineer who is eager to learn, takes ownership, and enjoys solving technical problems.

What You’ll Do

• Build a solid understanding of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and focused ion beam (FIB) technologies.

• Learn TESCAN’s service processes, technical documentation, and service management tools.

• Accompany experienced engineers during your initial training period to develop customer service and field service skills.

• Attend technical service training at TESCAN’s headquarters in Brno, Czechia.

• Install, maintain, and provide technical service support for SEM and FIB instruments at customer sites.

• Diagnose technical issues, troubleshoot equipment, and implement appropriate solutions.

• Provide customers with instrument operation training and practical technical guidance.

• Continuously develop your technical knowledge through service documentation, system updates, and internal training.

• Serve as a reliable link between customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and a high standard of service.

• Work closely with other Field Service Engineers and support the wider service team when needed.

• Carry out warehouse inventory checks twice a year.

• Take responsibility for assigned customers and ensure that their service needs are addressed promptly and professionally.

What You’ll Bring

• Basic knowledge of electronics or electrical engineering.

• A logical and structured approach to diagnosis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

• The ability and willingness to learn advanced SEM and FIB technologies.

• Good written and spoken English for technical training, documentation, and communication with international colleagues.

• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

• A proactive, hands-on attitude, together with a sense of urgency and ownership.

• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider service team.

• The ability to lift and handle equipment components weighing up to approximately 23 kg.

• A strong commitment to following company processes, quality standards, and guidelines.

• Experience working in a medium-sized or large international company would be an advantage.
