Application Engineer - Micro CT 

In this role, you will be part of Tescan’s micro-CT Applications Team, supporting customers worldwide by demonstrating how our X-ray Computed Tomography solutions turn complex samples into meaningful data. Based in Warrendale, you will combine deep technical understanding with strong customer interaction throughout the full application and sales cycle.

What You’ll Do

  • Master the operation of Tescan micro-CT systems to acquire high-quality, application-relevant data.
  • Perform system demonstrations, acceptances, and customer training using your expert operational skills.
  • Engage with customers to understand their scientific questions and interpret the information obtained from micro-CT data.
  • Translate customer needs into clear, workable micro-CT workflows.
  • Support the sales process by demonstrating and validating Tescan product value propositions.
  • Contribute to application presentations, scientific conferences, and customer workshops.
  • Support the creation of application-focused marketing materials.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional after-sales application support.
  • Provide structured feedback to product teams on system performance, innovation opportunities, and market needs.
  • Support sales initiatives such as customer visits or events when requested.

What You’ll Bring

  • A BSc or MSc in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, Life Science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on affinity with scientific equipment, ideally with recent practical experience in micro-CT.
  • A solid scientific foundation that helps you understand and discuss microscopy data with customers.
  • Clear, enthusiastic communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence and professionalism when interacting with customers during demonstrations, training, and acceptance.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of your time and a valid passport.
  • A natural ability to listen carefully, adapt in real time, and build trust with customers.
  • A persistent, competitive mindset paired with a professional and respectful approach.
