Application Engineer I

Join TESCAN as an Application Engineer and help customers explore the possibilities of advanced electron microscopy. Based in Shanghai, you will provide technical support for our SEM and FIB-SEM solutions through sample analysis, product demonstrations, customer training, and close collaboration with our Sales and Marketing teams.

What You’ll Do

Provide pre-sales technical support for SEM and FIB-SEM applications.
Conduct customer sample analysis and prepare high-quality demonstration results.
Deliver product demonstrations that clearly communicate the technical capabilities and advantages of TESCAN solutions.
Provide professional application and operational training to customers.
Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to support customer discussions and business opportunities.
Continuously develop your knowledge of electron microscopy products, technologies, and industry applications.
Follow developments in scientific research and relevant industries, identify emerging application needs, and translate them into practical customer solutions.
Collect application cases and prepare technical articles and other materials to promote TESCAN products.
Contribute application feedback and ideas to product improvement and the development of new features.

What You’ll Bring

A master’s degree or above in Semiconductor Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedicine, or another related science or engineering discipline.
Laboratory experience and a solid theoretical and practical understanding of SEM, FIB, or related instruments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, equivalent to CET-4 or above.
Excellent communication and customer-engagement skills.
The ability to explain complex technical information clearly and deliver effective customer training.
A proactive attitude, strong learning ability, and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across Application, Sales, and Marketing teams.
The ability to summarize technical findings and prepare professional application materials.
The willingness and ability to support and guide junior engineers when required.
